Yaya DaCosta

Yaya DaCosta (* November 15, 1982 in New York City as Camara DaCosta Johnson) is an American actress and model.

Career

DaCosta grew up in New York's Harlem. She attended the Northfield Mount Hermon School, 2004, she graduated from the trade of International Relations at Brown University in Providence. In the same year she took part in the third season of the show America's Next Top Model, finishing in second place. She then worked as a photo model.

After the appearance in an episode of the television series Eve DaCosta played in 2006 on the side of Antonio Banderas in the role of LaRhette Dance Film Dance! Every dream begins with the first step. For this role she was nominated for the 2006 Teen Choice Award. They also took on a greater role in the as yet unpublished drama film The Shanghai Hotel. In 2006, she took acting classes and was engaged alongside Danny Glover for a role in the film drama Honeydripper. For the role, she was nominated for the Black Reel Awards 2008 in the Best Ensemble category.
