Yaz culture

The Yaz culture (ca. 1500-1100 BC) is an archaeological culture of the Iron Age on the territory of modern Turkmenistan. It is regarded as an offshoot of early East Iranian culture, which is described in the Avesta. The fact that so far no burials this culture were found, it is taken as evidence of the Zoroastrian practice of so-called sky burial.
