In addition to the Midas Monument is a settlement mound of vorbyzantinischer time, it was used over the centuries including as residential and shelter and a storage facility for grain as well as a burial place. Are located in the surrounding area for several rock tombs (see also Aslantaş and Yilantaş ).

The name Midas Town is based on the last character of the Phrygian inscription on the Midas Monument, which can be identified as Midas. It has not been demonstrated previously that the legendary King Midas was actually the ruler of this city on the plateau.
