Year of the Horse is a 1997 documentary film by director incurred music Jim Jarmusch. The film portrays the Canadian rock musician Neil Young and his (also occurring independently of him) band Crazy Horse.

The collaboration between Neil Young and Jim Jarmusch began in 1994, when Young the film music for Jarmusch's "Dead Man " realized.

" Year of the Horse " was mostly at the live tour in 1996 as a companion to the eponymous live double disk. In addition to the concert footage of this tour is the film of the tour bus and backstage footage from the 70s.

The film was shot ( in addition to the conventional 16mm or Hi-8 formats) mostly on Super 8 film. It also older archive recordings from the years 1976 and 1986 have been incorporated.
