Year-to-date

Year-to -date ( YTD) referred to in the financial sector over the period since the beginning of the year up to the current time. A fiscal year usually begins on January 1, whereas the beginning of a fiscal year, depending on the business or organization may vary. YTD can be used in many contexts, but mainly to depict results of an activity at a time from one date to the beginning of the financial or fiscal year.

In the financial management context YTD is used to represent the success or performance of a business unit in the financial statements. By representing the current YTD owners, managers and stakeholders are able to compare the current performance of the company with that from previous periods.

Example: The YTD return on a stock is 7%. This means that the share price has risen by 7 % since 1 January to date.

Month -to-date and quarter -to-date

According to year-to -date and Month -to-date are (MTD ) and Quarter - to-date ( QTD ) was used. It is the period since the beginning of the current month / quarter to the current time.

Year -over- year ( YOY ), Year-to- Year

As yoy ( year- over- year ( YOY ), Year-to -Year), the comparison of a determined for a given year value with the corresponding value of one or more prior years is called.
