Yello
Yello is a Swiss musician duo (Dieter Meier and Boris Blank ). The word Yello is a play on words of Dieter Meier and represents "a yelled Hello" ( " a bellowed hello" ).
Band History
In the late 1970s Yello was founded by Boris Blank and Carlos Peron in Zurich ( Switzerland ). In a test laboratory for cars Boris Blank and Carlos Peron came together to record engine noise. They started talking and later began to experiment with different equipment, measures noises and processed to this song. Looking for a matching ensemble voice she made known to the seller of a local record store in 1978 with Dieter Meier, who was at that time still in a band called The Assholes.
In 1979 the first maxi-single on a Swiss underground label called Periphery Perfume. In 1980 she led her to the United States to present their music different record companies. The three Swiss received a recording contract. At this time, individual tracks also appeared on albums of Residents label Ralph Records. The second release Bostich became the club hit. There followed the first albums Solid Pleasure (1980) and Claro que si (1981). Mid -1980s the band gained more notoriety by first chart success, especially in their home country of Switzerland and in Germany. The beginning of 1985 released album Stella stayed in Germany for 34 weeks on the charts ( maximum placement Rank 6 ) and was awarded a gold record. In Switzerland, Stella could even occupy space 1. The final breakthrough in Germany succeeded in 1988 with the single The Race, which was used on German television as theme music for the popular music video show Formula One and climbed to # 4 on the charts, to date, the only top - ten finish of a Yello single in Germany. Use of Yello Music in the media
