Yellow Cathedral

The yellow dome is a never- issued stamp of Deutsche Post. From 1 September 1948, introduced a new series of stamps in the American and British zones of Allied occupation of Germany under which Bautenserie. A planned motive was the Cologne Cathedral in a denomination to five penny yellow in color. The brand was intended as a supplement for an airmail transport.

The currently issued stamp had a blue color ( Michel catalog number 75: Allied Occupation (American and British zone ), 1948 ), the yellow prints were destroyed except for a few copies. So far, three auctions of single stamps are known.

The only full stamp sheet was first shown from 20 to 22 September 2007 the Cologne Fair Philatelia and CoinExpo. The specimen comes from the Bonner Archive Philatelic Museum Foundation of Post and Telecommunications. The insurance value of this arc is one million euros.
