Yellow Submarine song track is a remix of songs of the film Yellow Submarine by the Beatles from the year 1968. The film was re-released on 13 September 1999 in the UK and the following day in the United States.

The album contains only the songs of the Beatles from the film, the film music pieces by George Martin from the original version of the album Yellow Submarine missing. It debuted in the UK charts at No. 8 with 19,000 copies in its first week. In addition, it was number 15 on the Billboard 200 with 68,000 copies in its first week. In France, the album debuted at number 13

On June 4, 2012 ( in North America on June 5, 2012), the album was released again on CD, along with the film on DVD / Blu -ray. While the original the 1999 publication of a Slimcase existed, the 2012 version was released as a Digipak.

Construction

The revised tracks of the album version have many changes and adjustments with respect to the original recordings. Although all the tracks are re-mixed, contain the songs on the album, the standard shots that were previously on other versions.

The title track from Yellow Submarine includes the line " A life of ease" by John Lennon, which was lacking in previous stereo releases.

Hey Bulldog was completely recorded on only a four - track tape. The piano and the drums were recorded together on a track and therefore could not be re-mixed separately. You are on the left audio channel, while the vocals and the snare overdubs by Ringo Starr are centered.

The double tracking, the (possibly erroneously ) in the first stanza was on the 1966 stereo version of Eleanor Rigby has been corrected in the 1999 remix. In addition, the strings were instrumental separated in a similar way as in the Anthology 2.

The stereo version of Love You To contains a shorter introduction than the original mono recording. This reduction was maintained in the song track version.

Acoustic guitars and percussion on the left channel were removed for the new mix of All Together Now. The vocals by Paul McCartney and John Lennon was centered while the choir was divided between the left and right side.

The song track version of Only a Northern Song reproduces the song for the first time in stereo. The original 1969 stereo on the album was a synthesized Duophonic version of the original mono version. A stereo mix of the song also appeared on the Anthology 2 with different overdubs and lyrics.

Sales Promotion

In order to promote the sale of Yellow Submarine song track in 1999, a series of actions was launched. These included a special postage stamps series, action figures of the main actors of the film as well as a variety of different Yellow Submarine products such as mouse pads. Euro Star trains were painted with Yellow Submarine designs. In addition, a life-size Yellow Submarine was shown on a promotional tour around the globe.
