Yellowstone Falls

The Lower Falls are waterfalls of the Yellowstone River in the U.S. state of Wyoming. You are east of the village Canyon Village, on the southern end of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone in Yellowstone National Park. With a height of 94 m, they are the highest falls in the park and almost twice as high as Niagara Falls.

The Lower Falls can be viewed from four vantage points: from Inspiration Point, Grandview Point and Point Lookout east of the gorge and from Artist Point on the western side.

The name first appeared in a map of 1869. 1889 circulated a plan under which a lift Visitors should bring you directly to the base of the Lower Falls; the plan was never implemented.

In its vicinity there are two other cases, the Upper Falls in the south and Crystal Falls in the west.
