Pastures Yellowthroat ( Geothlypis trichas )

The Common Yellowthroat ( Geothlypis ) are a genus of nine species of the family Warbler ( Parulidae ).

Features

In appearance, the species ( Geothlypis poliocephala ) strongly resemble with the exception of Meadow Gelbkehlchens. The top plumage is mostly olive green to olive-yellow; the underside yellow plumage and beak black. Characteristic of the adult males of the black face mask, which clearly sets itself apart from the rest of the plumage. Another prominent feature in most male representatives is a front crown band adjacent to the black face mask and usually draws up to the sides of the neck and the ears ceilings.

Resources, nutrition and reproduction

The distribution area extends from North America via Central America to South America. Four members of this genus are endemic to Mexico. Mostly are the habitats in swamps and other wetlands.
