Yenakiieve

Jenakijewe (Ukrainian Єнакієве; Russian Енакиево / Jenakijewo ) is a city in the Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine. The city is the administrative center of Rajon Jenakijewe and has about 85,000 inhabitants ( 2013).

History

1858 experimentales a metal factory was opened in place of the city. 1895 a large metallurgical combine Petrovsky was established, the associated workers' settlement received in 1898 in honor of the founder of the conglomerate 's name Jenakijewe. 1925 received the settlement town rights, 1923-1936 and 1936-1944 the city was called Rykowo Ordzhonikidze (in honor of the Soviet functionaries Alexei Ivanovich Rykov and Grigory Konstantinovich Ordzhonikidze ). 1932 to date traffic streetcar Jenakijewe was opened in the city. From 1 November 1941 to September 3, 1943, the city of troops of the Wehrmacht was occupied.
