Yeoman

As a yeoman farmer was called in the Middle Ages, its own reason possessed or had this rented from a landlord.

In contrast to the impaired or serfs, the yeomanry no direct dependency relationship with his landlords. He was able to determine his place of residence, his spouse or his employment itself. The Yeomanry were usually the wealthiest and most important people of the village.
