Yesh Atid

Yesh Atid (Hebrew יש עתיד, German " There is a future ") is a liberal party in Israel. The party was founded in April 2012 by former TV journalist Yair Lapid, the son of the former Shinui politician and Israeli Justice Minister Joseph "Tommy" Lapid.

The central points of the party program are education, housing and health. In addition, a general conscription for Orthodox Jews is sought, which have hitherto been exempt from military service. The Middle East Conflict on the party seeks a two-state solution is, however, one for medium-term inclusion of some large settlement blocs in the West Bank in the State of Israel.

In the election to the Knesset on January 22, 2013 Yesh Atid was the second largest party with 19 seats.

On 15 March 2013, the coalition agreement was signed, with Lapid gets the Treasury.
