YeÅŸim UstaoÄŸlu

Yeşim Ustaoğlu ( born November 18, 1960 in Sarıkamış, Kars ) is a Turkish film director.

Ustaoğlu was born in the eastern Turkish province of Kars and grew up in Trabzon on the Black Sea. After studying architecture at the Yildiz University in Istanbul, she worked as an architect, journalist and directed several video workshops. Using The Trace, she made her feature film debut in 1994. Your biggest international success came Ustaoğlu 2008 with the Turkish family drama Pandora 's Box. The story of a disappeared without a trace, with Alzheimer old woman (played by the French Tsilla Chelton ) which is sought by their children in their home village on the Black Sea, the Turkish director of 2008 saw the grand prize of the Spanish Festival Internacional de Cine de Donostia- San Sebastián one.
