Yeti Airlines is an airline based in Kathmandu, Nepal. It was founded in 1998.

Destinations

Yeti Airlines operates from its base in Kathmandu destinations throughout Nepal.

Destinations from Kathmandu are eg Tenzing - Hillary Airport in Lukla, Biratnagar, Nepalganj, Pokhara, Jomsom and many more. Other bases are Biratnagar ( eastern Nepal) and Nepalganj ( in Annapurnagebiet ).

As of September 2012 the fleet of Yeti Airlines consists of seven aircraft:

In October 2009, the STOL aircraft were transferred to the newly established subsidiary Tara Air.

Incidents

On 8 October 2008 against 07:31 clock local time ( 01:46 UTC) crashed a set with 19 people machine of the type de Havilland Canada DHC -6 ( 9N - AFE) while approaching the Tenzing - Hillary Airport in Lukla (Nepal) from. In this case, 18 people were killed, only one of the pilots survived. Among the passengers were twelve German, two Swiss and two Nepalese nationals. The machine was flown obviously too low, pulled a fence and fell immediately on fire.
