Yining City
Yining ( Yining ) ( Kazakh Құлжа / قۇلجا / Qulja; Chinese伊宁 市/ Yining Shi ) is the capital of the Autonomous Region of Xinjiang Uygur in the People's Republic of China located Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture Ili. It is located on the right bank of the river Ili.
Yining has an area of 629 km ² and around 430,000 inhabitants ( end of 2004). At the community level, Yining sets of eight road districts, a large village and eight communities together.
On 5 February 1997 to have been reflected in Yining of several 100,000 soldiers protest marches.
