Yiruma

Yiruma (* February 15, 1978 in Seoul, South Korea as Lee Ru -ma) is a South Korean pianist, musician and composer. Among his most famous pieces River Flows in You heard, with which he could be placed in the German pop charts in 2011.

Biography

Yiruma began playing the piano at the age of five years. In 1988 he and his family moved to England. There he participated in December 1996 on the album The Musicians of Purcell ( Decca ). He graduated from a school of Music in London. Yiruma is married to the former Miss Korea Son Hye -im. Together they have a daughter.

Music

In his best-known pieces River Flows in You, May Be, and Kiss the Rain, the artist uses simple and catchy harmonies. His works can thus be assigned the popular classical music or easy listening.
