Yitzhak Arad

Yitzhak Arad (Hebrew יצחק ארד; born November 11, 1926 as Izhak Rudnicki in Švenčioniai, Second Polish Republic) is an Israeli historian, retired general of the Israel Defense Forces and a former Soviet partisan. From 1972 to 1993 he was director of Yad Vashem. He also lectured at the University of Tel Aviv.
