Yodobashi, Tokyo

Yodobashi (Japanese淀 桥 区, -ku ) was a district of the city of Tokyo ( Tōkyō- shi ) in the old prefecture of Tokyo ( Tōkyō- fu).

It was created in 1932 with the enlargement of the Tokyo metropolitan area and united the former municipalities Yodobashi, Okubo, Totsuka and Ochiai. After the dissolution of the city of Tokyo in 1943 Yodobashi was a prefecture immediate district of the new Tokyo Prefecture ( Tōkyō-to ) and thus was under the prefectural government set up by the Ministry of Interior. With the reorganization of the Tokyo administration after the end of the Pacific War Yodobashi in 1947 united with Ushigome and Yotsuya Shinjuku.
