Yokosuka K5Y

The, also known as Navy Type 93 K5Y is one of the built in the largest numbers of Japanese trainer aircraft.

History

The prototype first flew in December 1933. Between January 1934 to 1945 a total of 5,768 machines in the land-based K5Y1 and the float version K5Y2 at eight different manufacturers were produced. The development of K5Y2 was the K5Y3; she was on a Hitachi Amakaze 21 - equipped engine and appeared in only two copies. The K5Y4 and remained K5Y5 projects. Allied Code Name: Willow.
