Yom Tov Asevilli

Yom Tob ben Abraham of Seville ( Yom Tov Asevilli, Acronym Ritba; * 1250, † 1320) was a Spanish- Jewish scholar, Talmudist and philosopher of religion.

In his Sefer ha - Yom Tob represents Zikkaron in the controversy over the religious-philosophical project of Maimonides - often against Nachmanides - overall and in many individual questions the accuracy of the statements and interpretations in the Guide of the Perplexed. He stressed, however, that the Torah in many ways was understandable and that the Maimonidean submissions without exception wise and perfection are useful; but he himself relates in detail also different positions, such as those of Nahmanides.

His main work are a collection of commentaries on the Babylonian Talmud, which - were published as " innovations " ( Chiddushim ) - like similar previous works about by Nahmanides.
