Yonezawa, Yamagata
Yonezawa (Japanese米 沢 市, -shi) is a city in Yamagata Prefecture in Japan.
The city is famous for its beef Yonezawa - gyu.
Geography
Yonezawa is located south of Yamagata and northwest of Fukushima.
History
Yonezawa is an old castle town in which the Uesugi (上杉) reigned until the Meiji Restoration. Yonezawa was raised on 1 April 1889 city.
