History

The club was founded in 1921 as SV Yorck Insterburg and merged in 1934 with the military SV von Boyen 1923 Tilsit to MSV Yorck Boyen Insterburg. The club declined to name the two Prussian generals Johann David Ludwig Graf Yorck von Wartenberg and Hermann von Boyen.

The most successful period of the club was in the 1930s, as in 1935 and 1938, the Championship of the Gauliga East Prussia could be won, and it was thus qualified for the finals of the German Football Championship.

When the Second World War in 1939 the military sports club could no longer participate in the game mode. With the end of the war, the club ceased to exist.
