The Yotsuya Station (Japanese四ツ谷 駅, Yotsuya eki ) is located in Shinjuku in Tokyo Prefecture, Japan. It is served by the JR Higashi- Nihon companies and Tokyo Metro. On -web spiders of the Tokyo Metro station carries the designation M - 12 on the Marunouchi Line or N -08 on the Namboku line.

History

On October 9, 1894, the station of the private Kinoe Railroad as a passenger train station, opened for the new route opened between the stations of Shinjuku and Iidabashi. On October 1, 1906, the station went on with the nationalization of all private railway companies in the possession of the Japanese National Railways. 15 March 1959, the Metro Station opened for the Marunouchi Line. On April 1, 1987, the station went into the possession of the products resulting from the privatization of the state railway JR Higashi- Nihon. With the completion of the section to Komagome held on 26 March 1996 for the first time a train Namboku line at the station, the trains of the line ended until further here. Only with the opening of the next track section to the Tameikesanno station operation was made possible as a through station for this line on 30 September 1997. On 1 April 2004, the underground operation was privatized on the Marunouchi and Namboku line and the Metro Station came into the possession of the Tokyo Metro.

Design and tracks

The JR Higashi- Nihon also the Tokyo Metro station as are built as a through train stations. Both stations are four platform tracks. While these serve two central platforms along the line belonging to the JR Higashi- Nihon, the tracks of the Tokyo Metro are each served by side platforms from. The lines of the Tokyo Metro, however, in this case run structurally largely separated from each other so that the Namboku line underground operates during the Marunouchi line to crossing the JR tracks must operate here above ground and the maintenance of the line was built across the JR tracks.

Environment

Near the station of the Ichigaya Campus of Sophia University and the Chinese School Tokyo is (东京 中华 学校, Tōkyō Chuka Gakko ). Even the palace Akasaka, used as a house for state visitors today (迎宾馆, Geihinkan ) is close to the train station. The headquarters of Ito Yokado - can also be found here.

Use

In 2008, the JR lines were used at the station from an average of 92 034 passengers a day, so that the rank 42 took over 900 on the ranking of the busiest train stations of JR Higashi- Nihon in 2008. The lines of the Tokyo Metro was used by an average of 103 548 passengers at the station on the day in 2008. The station is now on rank 31 of the busiest train stations of Tokyo Metro in 2008.
