All because Benjamin (AKA: À cause d'un garçon ) is a French television film from 2002, which tells the coming out of a gay student.

Action

The 17 -year-old student Vincent falls in love with his classmate Benjamin. From Vincent's homosexuality suspects in the family, at school and in his swimming club no man anything. Vincent has a girlfriend Noemi, but secretly he feels more attracted to boys of his age and young men. Vincent is afraid of a coming out. By chance, the homosexuality of Vincent is known at the school, and he is then exposed to the attacks of some classmates. Vincent sits down with the help of his swimming coach and some good friends against this onslaught.

Criticism

" The story is told from a plethora of different view angle, with many acts clichéd and contrived. The careful, all based on the characters staging and the convincing performance of the actors make the different feeling worlds yet believable and the problem film a sympathetic plea for tolerance. "
