Due to the broadcast of music videos on the British Broadcasting Corporation, had Wham! at Top of the Pops a guest appearance. First, the song reached number 40 in October 1982, went in the following week at number 24 and eventually reached in November 1982 3rd place
At the age of 16 years, George Michael wrote the song when his school friend Andrew Ridgeley at the time had a love relationship and therefore Michael enjoyed his former single life. The background vocals are by Dee C. Lee and Shirlie Holliman.
