Young-Holt Unlimited

Young- Holt Unlimited were an American instrumental soul-jazz duo of the late 1960s.

Band History

Until 1966, the jazz bassist Eldee Young and drummer Redd Holt formed together with the jazz pianist Ramsey Lewis Ramsey Lewis Trio the. Then they separated from Lewis and made with pianist Don Walker as Young Holt Trio on. With the title Wack Wack from their eponymous debut album in 1967 they had a Top 40 hit. Later they called themselves The Young Holt and from 1968, after Walker had been replaced by Ken Chaney, Young- Holt Unlimited.

The instrumental track " Soulful Strut " is her most famous song. It reached in 1968 # 3 on the U.S. singles chart and was a million seller ( gold status).
