Young is a city in western Uruguay.

Geography

It is located in the department of Río Negro, about 40 km east of the Río Uruguay.

History

The first inhabitants of the area, ( The Four Winds) was at that time known as Los Cuatro Vientos known, the brothers were Colmán in 1837. 1899 School No.17 ( Escuela N ° 17 ) was established by the Unión Patriótica, the inhabitants and the Inspector Valeriano Domingo de Arce. Later the renaming followed in Domingo de Arce.

Young was officially declared on 17 August 1920, Law No. 7256 for the village. At this time, Young had 1,200 inhabitants. On October 15, 1963, it was assigned Youngs as Ciudad means of Law No. 13,167 (Ley No. 13,167 ).

Infrastructure

Through the city runs the Ruta 3, by which they transport in technical terms has both connection to the south of the country to the capital, Montevideo, and on the west north of the republic. It is crossed in the urban area of the Ruta 25.
