Youngstown is a village in the western part of Niagara County, New York, United States of America. In the census of 2000 1957 inhabitants were counted.

The place is located on the eastern shore of the Niagara River and thus on the border with Canada. On the opposite side of the river is approximately 14,000 inhabitants, Niagara -on-the -Lake. Youngstown is located on New York State Route 18F.

History

About a kilometer north of the present city core built of the French explorer Robert Cavelier de La Salle in 1670 a small fort around this Fort settlers began to settle what are the origins of Youngstown. The fortifications were continuously expanded and became the heart of the subsequent Fort Niagara. During the British - American War in 1812 the settlement was completely destroyed.
