Yousef VII Ghanima

Joseph VII Ghanima ( Yousef VII Ghanima also ), whose real name is Joseph Ghanima ( born January 29, 1881 in Mosul, Iraq, † July 8, 1958 ) was from 1947 to 1958 Patriarch of Babylon of the Chaldeans.

Life

Joseph Ghanima was ordained on May 15, 1904 priests of the Chaldean Catholic Church, on 28 February 1925, he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Baghdad and consecrated titular bishop of Colybrassus simultaneously. On 29 April 1946, the appointed Titular Archbishop of Martyropolis and on 17 September 1947, he became Patriarch of Babylon of the Chaldeans.

Joseph Ghanima was about 54 years a priest and which total over 33 years and a bishop. Under his reign, the seat of the Patriarch of Mosul was moved to Baghdad.
