Youth Banks are youth initiatives from three to ten young people who act in its place as an independent foundation. They support other young people in the implementation of project ideas with know -how, infrastructure, motivation and money. The " bankers " are between 15 and 25 years old and work as volunteers.

With funding amounts between 50 and 400 € projects are supported, eg Training for school newspaper editorial teams, concerts with newcomer bands or photo exhibition with the works of young artists.

Emergence in Germany

Inspired by Youth Banks in the UK try the German Children and Youth Foundation ( GCYF ) and the Service Agency youth participation to adopt the model for Germany in early 2003. End of 2003, the Youth Bank was launched with the help of the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Polish Children and Youth Foundation. Project Criteria
