The Yoyogi Station (Japanese代 々 木 駅, Yoyogi -eki ) is located in Shibuya in Tokyo Prefecture, Japan. It is located several hundred meters south of Shinjuku Station. The station is served by doing two lines of JR East, as well as a line of Toei.

History

The Yoyogi station was opened on 23 September 1906 on October 12, 1909 held for the first time a train of Chūō - sobu - line at the station. A few months later, on December 16, 1909 also held the first train of the Yamanote line here. On 20 April 2000, the station was opened and the Toei Oedo Line is a train of thought for the first time here.

A fire on 20 May 2002 in the building of the JR train station meant that the operation on the Yamanote Line was completely stopped for safety for some time.

Design and tracks

The Stations of the JR East and the Toei are built in the most commonly encountered design of a transit station. The JR East railway station in this case has four tracks with two outboard side platforms and a central agent platform. The tracks 1 and 2 are served by the Yamanote Line, the tracks 3 and 4 of the Chūō - sobu line. The train station of Toei has only two tracks, served by a single central platform from.

However, there is between the JR East railway stations and Toei no direct transit traffic in the same building. The building of JR East has to transfer through the west or north exit to exit to reach the adjacent Toei Station.

Lines

The Yoyogi Station is served by the two JR East lines Chūō - sobu and Yamanote. Besides the two JR East lines of the railway station is also served by the Toei Oedo Line. The colors used in the table below are assigned by the respective companies color code the lines

Environment

Near the station are, among others, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Japan, the Yoyogi Animation College, the Japanese headquarters of GlaxoSmithKline, the seat of the Association of Shinto Shrines (神社 本 庁, Jinja Honcho ) and the NTT DoCoMo Yoyogi Building.

Use

In 2007, the station from an average of 74 536 passengers was used on the day, so the 58th took over 900 on the ranking of the busiest train stations of JR East in 2007. In 2007 took on average 49 857 to 46 505 and disembarking passengers on the day the Oedo Line at Yoyogi Station.
