Yozgat (old name Bozok ) is a city in Central Anatolia and the capital of the homonymous province. In 2012, the population of the city was 78 328, the province has 453 211 inhabitants. It is located 218 km east of Ankara in a valley of the Ak Mountains.

History

The city of Yozgat was founded in the 18th century by the Turkmen tribe of Çapanoğlu.

Yozgat has become known through the so-called Yozgat - method. That was after the clashes between the Ottomans and the Armenians and the Armenian Genocide, the first process of the war court, which took place in early 1919 in 18 sessions.
