Ystad is a municipality (in Swedish kommun ) in the southern Swedish province of Skåne County and the historical province Scania. The main town of Ystad Municipality.
Geography
The municipality of Ystad extends about 40 kilometers along the Baltic Sea. Through the community lead the European Route 65, the imperial roads 13 and 19, and the railway line Ystad Simrishamn. The trails Skåneleden and Österlenleden lead by the community.
Economy
5 percent of workers are employed in agriculture, about 18 per cent in the secondary sector. Ystad is not only an administrative center, but also an important port through which the majority of trade with Poland is settled.
Attractions
About 15 kilometers east of the town of Ystad lies the fishing village Kåseberga, in which the famous stone ship Ales stones is. In the northwest of the municipality Bjäresjö lies with the Church of Bjäresjö.
