The municipality Øystre Slidre in Norway has a total area of 963 km ² with a north- south extent of 45.1 km and an east- west distance of 39.8 km. Øystre Slidre has 3195 inhabitants ( as of March 31, 2013). The population density is 3.32 inhabitants per square kilometer. The highest elevation is the Øystre Rasletind with a height of 2,010 meters. 73 percent of the landscape rises over 900 meters. 60 km ² consists of water and 25 percent of the landscape is woodland. The deepest point of the landscape lies at an altitude of 410 meters. The municipality is also Beitostølen, one of the most famous ski resorts in Norway. The largest lakes are Vinstri, Yddin, Vangsjøen, Javnin and Olevatn.
