YÅ« Aoi

Yū Aoi (Japanese苍 井 优, Aoi Yū; born August 17, 1985 in Kasuga, Fukuoka Prefecture) is a Japanese actress and model.

Film career

Her film debut was in 2001 as Shiori Tsuda in Shunji Iwai's film All About Lily Chou - Chou. Then she portrayed Tetsuko Arisugawa in Hana to Alice (2004), also directed by Iwai, Kimiko Tanigawa in the hula dancing film Girls. For Otoko - tachi no Yamato and hula girls, she was nominated as Best Supporting Actress for the Japanese Academy Award in 2007, but was defeated Sumiko Fuji which was also nominated with hula girls. However, it was honored with seven other for Best Newcomer.

In 2006, she played the role of Hagumi Hanamoto in the film adaptation of the manga Honey and Clover.
