Yucumo

Yucumo is a country town in the Beni Department in the lowlands of the South American Andean Republic of Bolivia.

Yucumo is the second largest town of the district (Spanish: Municipio) San Borja in the province Ballivián. The city lies at an altitude of 261 m at the southeast end of the ridge of the Sierra Muchanes.

Geography

Yucumo is located in the Bolivian part of the Amazon basin east of the mountain ranges of the country in a year-round humid climate. The mean average temperature of the region is 26 ° C (see climate chart Rurrenabaque ) and varies only slightly between 23 ° C in June and July and about 27 ° C from October to December. Yucumo is located 281 kilometers away from Trinidad, the capital of the department, and 50 km southwest of San Borja, the administrative seat of the municipios.

From Trinidad, the largely unpaved highway Route 3 leads in a westerly direction over San Ignacio de Moxos and San Borja to Yucumo, from there the Ruta 8 in the north 99 km to Rurrenabaque and continues northeast on Reyes until after Riberalta and Guayaramerin at the Brazilian border. From Yucumo from the Ruta 2 branches off to the north towards and via Rurrenabaque to Cobija on the northern border of Bolivia.
