Yui Asaka

Yui Asaka (Japanese浅 香 唯, Asaka Yui, born December 4, 1969 in Miyazaki, Miyazaki Prefecture) is a Japanese singer and actress.

Life

Yui Asaka had her musical debut on 21 June 1985 with the single Natsu shōjo ( Summer girl ). Many other J-pop hits followed, by which it was surprising to the Japanese idol. Numerous appearances in popular Japanese music shows such as The Best Ten followed.

The height of their popularity they achieved through the acquisition of the title role in the third season of the television series Sukeban Deka. It was thus the successor to the idols Yuki Saitō and Yōko Minamino, who embodied the main role in the first and second season. Two Sukeban Deka movies followed in 1987 and 1988.

In 1988, she played the lead role in the feature film Yawara! , A live-action adaptation of the manga by Naoki Urasawa same name.

In 2002 she married the longtime drummer of her band.
