Yuichiro Hata

Yuichiro Hata (Japanese羽 田 雄 一郎, Hata Yuichiro; born July 29, 1967 in the prefecture of Tokyo) is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party (DPJ ), Member of the Sangiin, the upper house of the Japanese parliament, for the Nagano Prefecture and former Minister MLIT. Within the party he belongs to the Hata group.

Hata, the eldest son of the deputy and former Prime Minister Tsutomu Hata and grandson of Deputies Bushiro Hata, studied education at Tamagawa University and is hoikushi, a certified educator for toddlers. He then worked for the ITOCHU Foundation of the trading group Itochu Shoji.

1999 Hata resigned as DPJ candidate at the time of election in Nagano for the late Maki Murasawa and won against the former prefecture MPs Ken'ichirō Fukasawa (LDP ) and two left candidate of SDP and JCP. For the regular elections of 2001 and 2007 he was confirmed in each case in addition to Hiromi Yoshida (LDP ) in office. In Sangiin he belonged to, among others, the Committee of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Budget Committee and the Committee on gender equality and combating the falling birth rate.

In the last two cabinet reshuffles of Yoshihiko Noda Hata was from June to December 2012 Holiday and Transport Minister. When Shūgiin - election in December 2012 Hata first planned to run for the successor of his father in the third constituency Nagano, but then followed the party line to support any " Erbkandidaten " and remained a deputy in Sangiin. In 2013 Sangiin - election, he was re-elected with the second highest share of the vote (30%) behind Hiromi Yoshida (37 %), but a safe lead over four other candidates.
