Yulianna Avdeeva

Yulianna Andrejewna Avdeeva (Russian Юлианна Андреевна Авдеева, as Julianna Andrejewna Awdejewa transcribed; born July 3, 1985 in Moscow) is a Russian concert pianist.

She started lessons at age five, attended the State Music School in Moscow Gnessins and completed the training at the Zurich University of the Arts. After graduating, she was associate their teacher Konstantin Scherbakov. Since 2008, she continues to learn at the International Piano Academy Lake Como. She received outstanding international acclaim as the winner of the Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2010. She is the first woman who in 1965 won this award since Martha Argerich.

  • 2006 - 61st Geneva International Music Competition ( Geneva ) - 2nd place.
  • 2007 - Ignacy Jan Paderewski 7th International Piano Competition ( Bydgoszcz ) - 2nd place.
  • 2010 - 16th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition (Warsaw) - 1st place and the best performance of a sonata.
