Yun Byung-se

Yun Byung- se ( born August 3, 1953 in Seoul) is a South Korean politician and diplomat, and current Foreign Minister of South Korea.

Biography

Yun Byung- se studied at the Seoul National University Law and graduated in 1983 at the SAIS Johns Hopkins University in international relations specialist. In 1976 he joined the diplomatic service and was sent as ambassador to the United States, Australia, Singapore and the United Nations. From 2004 to 2006 he was a member of the National Security Council. Under Roh Moo -hyun, he was also responsible as the leading State of the President in the areas of foreign affairs, security and reunification. When he left the government, he worked for the law firm Kim & Chang. As part of Park Geun - Hye's presidential candidacy Yun Byung- se was its chief adviser on Foreign Affairs. On February 13, 2013, he was nominated as Secretary of State. Yun Byung- se belongs to the Saenuri party.

He succeeds Kim Sung- hwan on 11 March 2013.

Yun Byung- se is married and has one daughter.
