Yunguyo is a city in the region of Puno in southeastern Peru. Yunguyo is the capital of the province and the district Yunguyo Yunguyo. The population of the city has increased by about 40 % in the last two decades, from 9,036 inhabitants (estimated 1993) about 11,890 ( 2005 census ) of 12,878 inhabitants ( 2009 estimate ).

Location

Yunguyo located on a peninsula on the southwestern shore of Lake Titicaca. Directly east of the city, the state boundary with Bolivia, and from there a paved road to the coastal town a few miles away Copacabana on the Bolivian side.
