Jura Mowsisjan, as U.S. citizens, Yura Movsisyan (Armenian Յուրա Մովսիսյան, Russian Юра Сергеевич Мовсисян / Jura Sergeyevich Mowsisjan; born August 2, 1987 in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR, Soviet Union) is an Armenian footballer, who in addition to the Armenian and U.S. citizenship possesses. He plays since December 2012 at Spartak Moscow in the Russian Premjer League.

Club career

Jura Mowsisjan came at the age of fourteen years as a child of asylum seekers in 2001 or 2002 in the United States. His family settled in Southern California. He first played in his school, the Pasadena High School football. Later he played at Pasadena City College College Football. He was discovered by MLS scouts and signed a Generation Adidas contract. He was picked up by Kansas City Wizards and played there until 2007. Then he moved to Real Salt Lake. There he played for two years until 2010, he joined the Super League for Randers FC in Denmark. On 26 January 2011, he was sold for 2.5 million U.S. dollars to the Russian climber FK Krasnodar. In December 2012, the striker moved to the Premier League rivals Spartak Moscow.

National

His first goal was to play for the U.S. national soccer team. Later, he opted for the Armenian and debuted on August 11, 2010 in a friendly match against Iran. In qualifying for the 2012 European Football Championship in four games, scoring three goals.
