Yuri Lyapkin

Yuri Jewgenjewitsch Ljapkin (Russian Юрий Евгеньевич Ляпкин; born January 21, 1945 in Balaschicha, Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player.

Career

During his career, the defender played at HK Spartak Moscow and Chimik Woskressensk. In all, he scored 126 goals in 324 games in the Soviet league. He was appointed to the team of the Soviet national ice hockey team. On December 6, 1968, he was in a game against Canada for the first time for the Sbornaja on the ice. His international career was crowned with the gold medal at the Olympic Winter Games in 1976. For the national team, he scored 18 goals in 128 internationals. On 21 December 1976 he played his last international match. In 1973, he was inducted into the "Russian Hockey Hall of Fame".
