Yuri Titov
Yuri Jewlampijewitsch Titov (Russian Юрий Евлампиевич Титов; born November 27, 1935 in Omsk ) is a former Soviet gymnast.
Sports career
Yuri Titov belonged from 1956 to 1966 the Soviet gymnastics team, he won an Olympic gold medal with the team and a total of nine Olympic medals. 1956 and 1960, he finished in the individual all-around each third place. In gymnastics world championships Titov won ten medals, including four gold medals at the World Gymnastics Championships 1962 in Prague, he won the all-around in front of the all-around Olympic champions of 1964 and 1960 Yukio Endō Boris Schachlin. At club level Titov launched for Burewestnik Kiev.
After the active sports
Titov was 1976-1996 president of the International Gymnastics Federation Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique. In 1995 he was admitted as President of the Gymnastics Federation in the International Olympic Committee, but resigned his resignation in Gymnastics Federation in 1996 again. He was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 1999.
