Yury Morozov

Yuri Morozov Ionowitsch (Russian Юрий Ионович Морозов, scientific transliteration Yuri Morozov Ionovič; * August 5, 1949 in Sterlitamak, Bashkortostan) is a Russian industrial managers and South Ossetian politicians. From July 2005 to August 2008 he was Prime Minister of the unrecognized republic of South Ossetia.

Life

Morozov was Director of Finance of the Russian oil company Kurskaja in Kursk before it was proposed by the President of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity Repubklik for Premier and elected by the regional parliament in Tskhinvali on July 4, 2005. Morozov said to have visited South Ossetia for the first time in 2005. Kokoity said he had Morozov chosen because he was not involved in the regional corruption. However, the current South Ossetian leadership is accused of corruption and links to organized crime in Russia.

Morozov sees the recruitment of Russian investors as its main task and strives to South and North Ossetia economically and politically to bring together more. His first visit abroad led him in August 2005 in the nordossetische capital Vladikavkaz.

The Georgian government, which is under the autonomous region of South Ossetia under international law, has the choice Morozov as " complete control of Russia" over South Ossetia criticized.
