Yuvan Shankar Raja

Yuvan Shankar Raja ( Tamil: யுவன் சங்கர் ராஜா; born August 31, 1979 in Madras, now Chennai ) is an Indian composer and singer who primarily wrote music for the film predominantly Tamil and Telugu movies.

He is the youngest son of film composer Ilaiyaraaja and is considered one of the currently most important film music composer of Kollywood.

Biography

Yuvan Shankar Raja learned early singing and comes from a musical family, as his sister Bhavadharini singer and his brother Karthik Raja is a film composer. Yuvan Shankar Raja started his career in 1996 with music for the film Aravinthan. From 2003, he succeeded with music for films such as Kadhal Kondein, 7 G Rainbow Colony, Manmathan and Arindhum Ariyaamalum the breakthrough. He combined traditional Tamil music with hip-hop. He learned playing the piano at the Musee Musical in Chennai.

In addition to the film Yuvan Shankar Music released several albums that include some songs in Tamil and Hindi. Since December 2009 he is also on a worldwide concert tour, yet he attended, among others, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, the USA and South Africa.

From 2003 to 2007 Yuvan Shankar was married to Sujaya Chandran, who he met in London in 2002.
