Yves Nat

Yves Nat ( born December 29, 1890 in Béziers, † August 31, 1956 in Paris) was a French pianist and composer.

Nat studied at the Conservatoire de Paris in the master class of the pianist Louis Diémer. He devoted himself mainly to chamber music, undertook extensive concert tours with violinist Jacques Thibaud and the George Enescu and occurred frequently in duo with Eugène Ysaye. His repertoire consisted mainly of works by Schubert, Schumann and Brahms. Since 1937 he devoted himself fully to composition and teaching at the Conservatoire. In the mid-1950s he played Beethoven's complete sonatas on a record.

In addition to numerous piano works he composed chamber music and oratorio.
