Yvonne McGregor

Yvonne McGregor MBE ( born April 9, 1961 in Wibsey, Bradford) is a British cyclist.

Yvonne McGregor began at the age of 29 years with the power cycling. Her first big success was winning the gold medal at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria won in the points race. The following year she set a new hour record ( 47.441 km ) in Bogota.

1997 McGregor was third at the UCI Track World Championships in Perth in the individual pursuit; In 2000 she became world champion in this discipline; In 2001, she finished second in Antwerp again a fourth place

Yvonne McGregor took twice at the Olympic Games in part, in Atlanta in 1996, where she became only the fourth place, to their great disappointment in her best discipline, the individual pursuit, in the 500 -meter time trial, she was 14 at the games in Sydney in 2000, she won then the bronze medal in the individual pursuit. There she also took part in the road race, finishing in 24th place.

Yvonne McGregor was 20 times British Champion, most recently in 2001 in the time trial on the road. It is among the first 50 athletes who were enrolled in the newly established "British Bicycle Hall of Fame" in 2010. Since 2006, it operates together with the trainer Ken Matheson, the training school " Full Cycle " in Stoke -on-Trent.
