Yvonne Minton

Yvonne Fay Minton CBE ( born December 4, 1938 in Sydney ) is an Australian opera singer (mezzo- soprano), (Der Rosenkavalier ) acquired in the 1970s worldwide fame as Kundry ( Parsifal ), Brangäne ( Tristan and Isolde ) and Octavian, but also as Fricka ( Die Walküre ), Dorabella ( Cosi fan tutte ) and Béatrice ( Béatrice et Bénédict ) shone.

Minton studied in her hometown, but since 1961, lives in London, where she was a long time member of the Opera Company of Covent Garden. She began her career as old and even won the Kathleen Ferrier Prize. She performed regularly at the Bayreuth Festival and the Salzburg Festival. Minton also occasionally operated as an oratorio and as a recitalist.
